Hello everyone, today I am here with another ______ Picks My Books post. This month I am excited to say that another good friend of mine Jenna picked two books for me. She is absolutely wonderful, you all need to check her out ASAP. Now Jenna and I have been reading books together for the last few months. I think at this point it has been 5 or 6. With us discussing so many books together in detail I was very confident to pick her next to pick books to add to my TBR. Before getting further into this post I am going to link to all the previous posts in this series incase you have missed any of them.

So just like previous posts I gave Jenna minimal rules or guidelines to follow. I asked her to pick 2 books, any books she wanted. I did not limit her to specific genres or anything like that. It makes it more interesting.
So once I gave Jenna all the information she quickly got to work trying to figure out what books to have me buy and read. Well, I also had to wait for her letter to get to my house. Jenna did something so fun, she sent me a letter in the mail to tell me what books she picked for me. Now, if you don’t know me that well you may not know I LOVE getting letters in post cards and I am an avid user of postcrossing where you send postcards to people around the world and then others send you post cards from all corners of the planet. Anyway, I LOVED this idea, I just did not love the waiting. I was way too excited.
Eventually, I got the letter with my TBR and a lecture to finished the Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King. I will point out that I have now finished it!
The Books
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Huge
Description: Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one in the journalism community is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?
Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband, David, has left her, and her career has stagnated. Regardless of why Evelyn has chosen her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.
Summoned to Evelyn’s Upper East Side apartment, Monique listens as Evelyn unfurls her story: from making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the late 80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way. As Evelyn’s life unfolds through the decades—revealing a ruthless ambition, an unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love—Monique begins to feel a very a real connection to the actress. But as Evelyn’s story catches up with the present, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways. -goodreads.com

One night everything changes when she witnesses one of her father’s thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold, wreck his motorcycle. What follows is a powerful and shocking love story between two unlikely people that asks tough questions, reminding us of all the ugly and wonderful things that life has to offer. -goodreads.com
I am very excited to get to these books in the next month or so. I have been seeing The Seven Husband of Evenly Hugo all over the place so I am very glad she picked this one and I have never heard of All the Ugly and Wonderful things, but the description is so interesting. So, all I have to say is, good job Jenna!
I have The Seven Husbands if Evelyn Hugo on my TBR hopefully I will get to it soon.

When Jenna told me she was sending you a letter with your books, I thought that was the cutest thing ever. I am happy Jenna told you to finish Bill Hodges because I almost picked that for you to read. I am excited for you to get to both of these. I haven’t read All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. I am excited to hear what you think of that.

Haha it does. I was slacking on commenting on blogs so I went and read your posts. I feel I am in a slight blogging rut. I will do posts but then I’ll wait like a week to check on my blog or sometimes I won’t post at all 😦

I hear you, I try to stop in for 10 min a day. I also write multiple posts and schedule ahead of time because I am never in the mood to write when I need to write.

Oh stopping in for 10 a day is smart. I need to start doing that. I think I’ve just been so tired lately I haven’t wanted to do stuff with the blog. Plus I’m so behind on people’s posts. I feel bad. I also think I’m a little burnt out from trying to schedule something always Monday through Friday.

Yeah that is a lot, I post normally Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I like it because it is frequent, but not too much to stress me out.

That is a good stepup. I got into it for a while but lately I’ve just haven’t been in the mood to post as much so I might change and make a new schedule.

Changing things up always keeps things interesting. My Sundays are just a weekly wrap up so I guess I only really “write” 2 a week.
