TAG | Unique Blogger Award Vol. 2

unique

Thank you so much Irena for nominating me for this, I have to say I loved your questions so much. If you have never seen this girls blog, you need it check it out. Without further delay here we go!

Link to Volume One: TAG | The Unique Blogger Award

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Questions & Answers:

1. A monster breaks into your home! (Gasp!) But it’s not a very dangerous one, don’t worry. It’s just lost, poor thing. It can easily be scared, and then it will go into the wild and live happily ever after. But you need to scare it. The only thing that comes to mind is to throw a book at it, because you’re standing next to your shelves. You obviously don’t want to throw and possibly destroy a book you love, so you grab a book you don’t like and you don’t even know why you still have it. What book do you choose?

Now this is going to get me in trouble, but I want to be honest. If I had to throw a book at a monster to scare it away I would throw Illuminae by Amie Kaufman. I loved the concept, but I just could not get invested in the story.

2. You’re walking down the street, minding your own business, and you find a magical lamp. (You now it’s magical because it sparkles. Or something.) And what do you do – you rub the lamp of course. You know how these things work! And, yes, a genie comes out and says he’ll give you any superpower you want.
“But, I thought I was supposed to get three wishes!” you say.
“I’m the genie, I know how this works! You get a superpower!”
You shrug and accept the offer. A superpower is still great. Which superpower do you choose?

To me this seems like a super power, but it might not to others. But, I would ask for Omni-linguism. I would love to be able to understand any form of language.

3. I’ll keep this one shorter, I promise. XD Now, you have superpowers, but you still need help because you’re new at the whole supernatural thing. Which character (from a book or tv show) would you choose to be your partner and best friend?

I would pick Doctor John Watson, he seems like someone who would keep me levelheaded.

My Questions For You:

  1. You are in the bookstore and you see someone walking around for an hour looking at all the books looking lost. Finally, you decide to ask them if they need help. They  admit they have no idea what book to read next, what book would you recommend?
  2. Image you get the opportunity to go back in time, maybe a mad scientist has figured out the technology, who knows? Anyway, the only thing is you need to feed the contraption a classic book and you travel to the time that it was written. What book would you feed that machine?
  3. You are in the library and you see someone reading at a table. Then you see the worst thing imaginable…. they are doing your bookish pet-peeve. What are they doing to that poor book?!

  6. Notify your nominees of the nomination.
  7. The most important rules? Have fun and of course, keep it fresh!

Part A

1. Strawberries – Name the sweetest book you’ve read. (e.g. sweet in terms of the characters or if the story takes place in a sweet world… etc.)

22055262

2. Coconut – What is a book that you would bring on vacation with you to a tropical destination? (Or if you’re just relaxing at the beach…)

22055262

3. Pineapple – What is a book that you didn’t think you would like by judging its cover/summary/the first few pages but started to grow on you?

22055262

4. Orange – What’s the juiciest book you’ve read? (e.g. A book with tons of action, romance… etc.)

22055262

5. Watermelon – A watery book (e.g. There wasn’t tons of substance to the book/the details were just too watery, etc. Don’t get us wrong though, we love watermelons!)

I honestly, I don’t know what to pick for this one!

6. Dragonfruit – What’s the most unique book you’ve read? (e.g. Unique in writing style, characters, plot … etc.)

22055262

22055262

8. Tomato – What is a wonderful book that you think should be more widely known? Or a fantastic author whom you think deserves more recognition? (Since some may not know that tomatoes are actually fruits!

22055262

9. Apple – Name a really stereotypical book of a certain genre just like apples which are typical fruits. In the end was that book good or not? (e.g. A very typical contemporary/fantasy book… etc.)

This was a typical Stephen King book that was very enjoyable. 22055262

10. Blueberries – Name a book that made you feel blue. (Any sad, depressing books that you’ve read?)

22055262

11. Grapefruit – Any bitter books? (e.g. a book that was blue but MORE … do you have any bitter resentments towards characters from a book? Any sour turned bitter emotions? Any uber-hateful villains?)

22055262

12. Limes – Name a funny book that you’ve read because limes add flavour and so does humour with every book.

Oddly enough, I have not read a funny book so far this year. I need to remedy this quickly.

Part B

Create your own.

Peach – Name a books that was just peachy/excellent.

22055262

Part C

Smoothie: Strawberry + apple + orange + pineapple + blueberry.

I loved Audrey  answer so I am going to take it, sorry Audrey! I am picking the Harry Potter series as whole because it made me feel many emotions throughout the series, and because Smoothies are amazing and so is the series.

Story About How I Started My Blog

I started my blog as a way to connect with fellow readers and book lovers. I will say I had a very rocky start, I created it and did not really write anything on here for nearly a year. I previously had a Tumblr that I posted on constantly and still do you can find that [here] if you want to see some of my old reviews and bookish things.

Two Pieces of Advice

1. This is something fun, not a job. Do not feel like you HAVE to do anything.

2. Plan ahead! Planning topics ahead of time or even writing posts ahead of time is very helpful and will keep you constant.
