Monday 22nd: The Sacrifice
Which characters or creatures would die first if they were in a horror movie?
Amy from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
While I adore Amy when she is an adult, as a child she is quite annoying and does not always listen to the rules. I feel like she would be sneaky and do something that she thinks would help her and then back fire pretty quickly. As you can see from this meme of the Little Women, this is a very famous quote of hers when she is younger, it kinda proves my point.
Cath from Fan Girl by Rainbow Rowell
While I love Cath and relate to her a lot, I feel like her head might be plotting her fan-fiction while she should be on watch. This would lead her to be distracted and then end up being her downfall sadly. You can see in this awesome illustration by Susanne she is so engrossed in her fan-fiction and not thinking about anything else.
Amelia Bedelia from the Amelia Bedelia series
by Peggy Parish
While Amelia Bedelia is a very loved childhood staple that I can relate to, chances are she would be given instructions and would misunderstand by taking a phrase to literally and then end up in a not so good situation. As you can see by her image, she is a very happy and kind lady, I hope I am wrong about this one.
What book character do you think would not make it through a horror movie?
Monday 15th: Shapeshifter
What characters would you like to dress up as at Halloween?
For me I think one of the best book characters to dress up as would be Coraline Jones from Coraline written by Neil Gaiman. The first reason I would say this is because even though this is a kids book, it is creepy and really has halloween vibes to it. I mean other mother and a black cat? The first time I saw other mother illustrated I was spooked and the black cat is just icing on the halloween cake.
The second reason might be very obvious if you look at the picture above. Dressing up as Coraline is a comfortable costume. I can wear jeans and sweaters so I wont be too cold and if it is too cold I can wear a rain jacket as another layer and it wont take away from my costume, it only adds. Also, thanks to Comic and Cosplay you can see there are different outfits you can wear depending on your own personal style. I know I would prefer to wear the blue and white stared sweater and black jeans with blue booties. That is my comfort zone. While someone else would feel better in a red and white stripped shirt and jeans.
I have to admit that Comic and Cosplay did a great job with creating these board and helping others to dress up as this character. They really were able to look at the character at a few points in the story and find real world equivalents for people to wear. I might even use this as my costume this year, time will tell on what I decide to be.
