Hello and welcome to my monthly intent post for the last month of 2022! I know I have been very hit or miss with posting this year, but I am hoping to turn that around this month and going forward. Anyway, as with very monthly intent, I am going to take a moment to share some of the goals and plans I have for the month ahead.
I honestly have no real goal this month in particular. I have a lot going on this month with last min. gift knitting and crocheting and all the holiday plans. I feel like if I am going to have a goal is to just read what I want. I have no plan and that is my plan, if I can call it that.
Crochet & Knitting Plans
This month I really want to enjoy my knitting my advent striped sock and maybe crocheting my other advent as well. I say maybe because the advent I was lucky enough to have has both a crochet and knitting pattern and I have no idea what they look like at this point. I feel like I will figure it out once I see what my options are. Other than that, I just have a few gifts I need to finish, but I am not too stressed or worried about the deadline currently.
This month I really would like to get organized for the new year. I mainly want to set myself up for success in 2023 by doing what I need to do to try and succeed at the goals I have for 2023. December is a really odd month for me in this respect. I feel like it is all about wrapping up the previous year and getting ready for the new one.
Other than “prepping” for 2023, I really want to take part in blogmas this year and post each day leading up to Christmas. In the past, I did a version of blogmas, The 12 Days of Blogmas”, but this year I really want to commit and post from the 1st of December thought the 24th. It is a lot of work, but I think I can do it. Plus some of the posts I am planning are fun and silly. I am hoping this will reignite my love of blogging.
Hello and welcome to another Monthly Intent post where I share my reading plans and other goals I have for the month ahead. We are now officially in fall and I have already had my experiences with chilly mornings. Due to this I am in the mood for horror, knitting sweaters, and other fall activities to keep warm and get in the spirit of the season. Without some more ramblings, here are my plans for the month of October!
One book I for sure want to read in October is Sundial by Catriona Ward. I am reading this with my friend Reg specifically because it is a creepy psychological horror book and it is finally the spookiest month of the year. I have a feeling it will be the perfect book to read to get in the Halloween spirit this month. Other than that I really would like to read 2 more books, but I am going to leave it up to my mood. I recently took a good look at my owned TBR books, turns out I only have about 7 remaining on my shelf, Owned TBR Shelf. Which is really exciting because I really want to get to a point where I finish a book and then pick up my next book from the library or the store.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
Finishing Alpenglow I by Andrea Mowry. I know I really wanted to finish this last month, but turned out I did not have the 9 inch curricular in the correct size to work on the sleeves once I got to to them and was held up a few days. I am not halfway through one sleeve and only have a sleeve and a half to go! After this I would really like to finish my halloween socks, which is a yarn called Zombie Frap by Desert Vista Dye Works and I am using the pattern, Heel Toe Do Si Do by Crazy Sock Lady Designs.
As for random goals, I want enjoy some of this fall weather and activities before it gets too cold outside. I would really love to go apple picking this month, it is something I have been doing for years and it really is a ton of fun and afterwords I get to make apple pie! I would also really love it if I got the chance to carve a pumpkin, but this month my schedule might not allow it. One last thing I would really love to do this month is have a bonfire in the backyard with the chill in the air.
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am just taking a moment to write some goals I have for myself this upcoming month. This month I feel like I am already ready to say goodbye to the heat of summer and embrace the light chill in the air of the start of fall later in the month. I don’t know about you, but I am already noticing the days getting shorter. Anyway, with all that in mind here is my intent for the month of September
This month I have the goal of completing a sweater called Alpenglow I by Andrea Mowry. I have never made a colorwork sweater, but so far I am really enjoying it! It has been engaging so I don’t think I will have a problem finishing it up.
As for my random goal of the month, I really would like organize my space a bit more. I did a lot of unhauling of books, items, etc. because I had to downsize. While I was able to take some things out of my space, I kind of just shoved things where ever they would fit instead of organizing. So it has been a little difficult finding items and my space just doesn’t seem to be working for me. I feel like it is going to take some time, but I really want try to tackle it. or at least most of it, this month.
I don’t have any specific books I plan on reading in August, but I do want to read 4 books in total. If I did have to choose two I most likely end up reading, I think it would have to be to finish The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager, I started read it halfway through July and I have been taking my time since I am reading it with Reg and Jenna. The second one I would have to say has a high chance of being read in August is Things We Lost in the Fire by Mariana Enríquez, I read another work by this author and absolutely loved it so I am really looking forward to picking this one up.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
As for knitting plans I really want to start working on either Morning Rituals by Andrea Mowry/(Ralvery/Makers Website) or Soldotna Cropby Caitlin Hunter (Ralvery/LoveCrafts). Both are sweater patterns, but the first would be starting the transition to fall/sweaters with beautiful cables and the Soldotna is a short sleeve colorwork crop top. Both are beautiful. I am tempted to make one more Summer top before the weather changes, but to be fair I wont have a ton of time in the month of August to knit. Decisions, Decisions.
For the month of August I don’t have too many goals, I am really going to do my best to relax a bit since I will have some time to myself. I really want to go on another nature walk like I did in July, it was just a really fun adventure. I also want to go to the beach as least once if not more to relax near the waves and do some reading. Like I said, I just want to relax as much as possible.
Hello and welcome to a bit of a planning post for the month of May! This month I am planning on doing quite a few things, but also trying to make it a priority not to do too much and get overwhelmed. It is really easy with the beautiful weather to say yes to too many things.
Unfortunately, last month I did not get to read Berserk Deluxe Vol. 1 in its entirety. Due to this I really would like to get that completed. Other than that I don’t have any specific books I want to read in May. I have been doing well with not really saying I need to read X,Y,Z the past few months. Since it is working so well, I don’t want to mess with it.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
This month I really want to finish working on my Out-Stranding by Christie Archer, which is a color work and textured shawl. I am planning on finish it within the first half of the month so I can move on to a bigger project. The project I want to get started after that is the Body Language Cardigan by Knits N Knots, I have not worked on a crochet project in a while and I have had the yarn for this sitting around since late last year. I want to get it done so I can wear it in the fall and maybe a bit before the Summer fully hits. Other than that I am just working on some vanilla socks.
This month I really want to have a picnic. I know it is a really silly goal, but I really enjoy having a good meal with good people outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather before it gets way to hot to function. I also would love to get my tomato garden all set up and reading to go as well. Every year I grow tomatoes and I am planning to continue this year. I just need to get new planters and soil, mine ended up breaking last year because they grew too large.
I hope you all have a really amazing May ahead of you! Do you have any fun plans coming up this month?
Hello and welcome to a new month! Last month I decided to take a bit of a break from blogging and take some times to get some other things done, but I am excited to be back and jump right in with a monthly intent post!
This month I am really going to be mood reading, I want to read Overlord Vol. 3. I am reading the light novels slowly and they are wild and all over the place and I am enjoying them a lot. I also would love to start and finish Berserk Deluxe Vol. 1 as well. Other than that I really am just embracing my mood reading and picking things up as I feel like it.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
This month I would really love to get two projects off of my needles. The first would be the Saraya Shawl by Saysha Greene I only have one repeat of the cables and the edging to do, so I should be able to knock this out by the middle of the month. I am really loving this project so far and the designer, Saysha, is just amazing! The second project I would love to finish this month would be a short sleeve Ranunculus by Midori Hirose. This is my first sweater so I am doing a lot of new things so I will be thrilled if I finish it by the end of the month.
Outside of those two huge projects, I really want to finish my rainbow socks. I got some beautiful rainbow striped yarn in late February and I have been waiting to finish a pair of socks for a friend before casting these on for myself. I just finished those socks so I really want to get my socks made!
This month I just want to enjoy the beautiful Spring weather that is starting to finally start up! I would love to eat outdoors this month and enjoy some good food with friends or loved ones while we all enjoy the beautiful Spring weather before Summer shows up and melts us all.
Hello and welcome to my little planning post for the Month of January! I am so excited to start off this year by sharing some of the things I wish to do in its first month, happy New Year by the way! This month I don’t have too many specific things I want to do, just some ideas that I think would be good and fun.
This month I would love to read just one book. My reading has really just slowed down a lot in the past year, but especially this past month. To me this is fine because at this point when I do pick up a book when the mood hits I am enjoying it. Due to this, I am going to let myself be a total mood reader and just read what I feel like when I feel like it and I just want to finish one book.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
This month I would like to knit a pair of socks for my significant other. I have not knit him anything yet and I thought this would be something fun since I can only knit myself so many socks. He picked out the yarn, Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in Ultramarine Violet, and the pattern he settled on is Vanilla Latte Socks by Virginia Rose-Jeanes. On top of that pair of socks I would like to start another pair for myself I am using Tube Socks by Mary Anne as inspiration, but I am playing with the numbers quite a bit. For my pair of socks I am going to be using Spun Right Round Classic Sock in Sly Fox. The final project, but most likely the first one I am going to be casting on in the new year would be the Apiarist Cowl by Claire Borchardt. I am planning on using some Drops Kid Silk in Red and holding it with Kraken by Lantern Light Hand-Dyed Yarn & Fiber.
With random goals this month I honestly cannot think of one I would like to do specifically. I would like to try or see something new though and just enjoy the experience. I know it is annoying vague and they say that goals shouldn’t be, but to be honest I think with how things are currently, it is just perfect.
Hello and welcome to my little planning post for the Month of December. It is hard to believe that 2021 is in its final month and 2022 is right around the corner. I feel like I am already cooking up ideas for 2022, but I want to accomplish a bunch of things this month as well. I will say, I am going to try and be a bit better about posting, life has just been a bit hectic and it was not much of a priority. I have some ideas planned though for this month and I can’t wait to share them with you, also I will still be posting a wrap up of sorts for November, it will just be a bit late. Oops!
This month I really want to finish reading the last two books in the Lord of the Ring Trilogy, The Two Towers and The Return of the King by JRR Tolkien. Apart from that, I want to read the second book in the Dune Series by Frank Herbert called Dune Messiah. If I read any more than that I will be thrilled, but those are the books I really want to get through before the year is over.
Crochet and Knitting Plans
This month I am taking part in Knitty Natty’s Sockmas challenge of sorts. You can find all the information on her website linked here. As I write this, it has already started since it started the day after Thanksgiving here in the US. The main purpose of this is to complete a pair of socks in the allotted time, about three weeks. As of right now I am about halfway through both of my socks so I am well on my way to achieve this. I decided to knit using the pattern Cafe Mocha by Twin Stitches Designs. I am using blue though instead of brown/tan yarn so it will look more wintery. Other than that, I really want to get my WIPs down and I don’t plan on casting anything new on as of right now, but we shall see. I feel like I always want to start a new project before I finish another one.
I honestly don’t have many goals for myself this month. I am really focusing on finishing up some of those pesky goals I had for myself this year overall, a lot of them you can see in my post Reading Challenge | 2021 Reading Goals. I also want to focus on getting organized and get better at making more manageable goals and expectations on myself. Lately, I have really been making outlandish goals for myself that are just not doable in the time I give myself and I need to just get better at being realistic while challenging myself.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful month and aren’t too cold as the fall weather starts to slowly shift into something that feels a lot like winter.
Hello and welcome to a another Monthly Intent post where I am going through my plans and goals for the month in various aspects of my life including; reading, crafting and general adventures! This month I know the weather is really going to be getting cold and I am going to be trying to stay as cozy and warm as I can inside my house. Due to this, some of my ideas of the month are not as adventurous as previous months.
This month I am thinking I am going to be focusing on nonfiction reads and taking part, kinda sorta, in Nonfiction November. The only offical account I can see for this month long readathon is a twitter account with the name @NonficNovember. Here you can find an accountment video and general information. Generally the goal is to read nonfiction in November. Currently on my shelf I have quite a few nonfiction novels that I am going to allow myself to pick from.
Titian by Ron Chernow
The Unwanted by Michael Dobbs
Sons of Cain by Peter Vronsky
Writing On Stone by Christina Marsden Gillis
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
How to Be a Stoic by Penguin
Stoic Wisdom: Ancient Lessons for Modern Resilience by Nancy Sherman
Crochet and Knitting Plans
This past month I did a lot of crocheting and making for others trying to get all these presents done with plenty of time incase something comes up. Thankfully, I finished all but one present. The one that remains I just added to my list about a week ago, so there would have been no way to do it sooner. This last and final present is the Avon Throw Blanket by TL Yarn Crafts. I am really excited to make this one honestly because it is chunky yarn, but simple with a little pop. Following that I am going to focus on making my after thought heel socks. I am not really following a pattern for this I am using my own measurements so I have nothing really to share pattern wise. I will say I am inspired by

I think I might use her tutorial for the heel, but I am not totally sure yet.
When it comes to other goals in my life I would really like to go to a yarn shop this month. I have not been to a yarn dedicated store in almost 4 or 5 months and I have a project in mind that I want special yarn for. I am hoping to be able to bring a friend along with me, but we shall see how that goes. Other than that I would love to have a really delicious hot coca when the weather turns colder and snuggle up with a good book.
Hello and welcome to my monthly intent post for the month for October! This month is pretty straightforward and I don’t plan on doing anything too out there, apart from maybe reading some spooky read and decorating with more skulls than normally sit on my shelves. But, I do have a quite a few things I would like to do otherwise, here are those plans and goals!
This month I have three books I want to prioritize the first is finishing Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb, I read the Farseer Trilogy this year and I enjoyed it. I want to continue working my way through Hobbs works. Plus, I hear this trilogy is even better than the last. Another book from my 2021 reading goals I want to get to it is my reread of The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. I read this 6 or 7 years ago and a lot of the details are starting to fade away so I thought this year would be a great time to reread. I already read The Hobbit last month so I am thrilled to be back in the world. The last book I am hoping to get to between all my mood reading is The Boy From the Woods by Harlan Coben. I have not read a thriller in a while so I am thinking October might be a really great month to jump into the genre.
Crochet & Knitting Plans
This upcoming month I really want to focus on finishing a few presents and also a donation I am in the middle of. A friend of mine let me know there was an LGBTQ+ organization that was collecting winter items for LGBTQ+ youth. The website for it is Knit the Rainbow if you want more details. I am really excited about creating these items. I have a hat and a cowl already going and I am going to try to finish a few more items before the end of the month.
As for the presents I am making I have a blanket and two stockings I need to get done, but I feel like I can get at least the two stockings done before October is done and really focus on the blanket either at the end of the month and November if need be. Both are using bulky yarn, so they should work up fairly quickly. After these projects are done I am going to be starting to make a few things for myself again.
This month there is not a ton I want to get done other than what I already listed. Reading and crafting are at the top of my to do list. If I was going to add another goal it would be sit around a camp fire and make some s’mores to send off the summer and welcome fall in.
