Unboxing Boho Berry | March 2019

Unboxing

Hello everyone and welcome to another unboxing! This box has been one I have been looking forward to. I love opening it and seeing all the new things to try and use in my bullet journal. I don’t know about you, but I am always afraid to try new products and pay shipping for a pack of them. This box has really made it easy for me to try something new, but not having to invest in a particular thing. Last month was fun and light hearted with a theme of sending letters, I am excited to see what this month will bring!

Here is the box that was delivered to my doorstep, always adorable and arrives in great condition.

This is what you see as soon as you open the box up. You always get a card that explains all of the items, but I never look at it because I like the surprise. If there is anything I am unsure of how to use, that is when I look at it.

My first look at all the goodies, I was so excited to see colored crystals or stones. Color choice was so up my alley. I really enjoy these theme much more than last months even though I have not seen everything yet.

Here are the first few sticker sheets I pulled out of the box. The one on the left is a bunch of stickers that you can use throughout your month. One are weekly trackers, others are headers, and quotes. I love adding these throughout. In the middle is a very nice sticker that is made of a different type of paper, it is very sturdy. The last sticker on the right is a mood tracker, which I had never tried before. So I am excited to see if it will work for me or not.

The last two sticker sheets are pretty straight forward. The left is a bunch of stickers that are just stones, which I love to add to the theme throughout the spreads. The one on the right is the monthly habit tracker. I really like how this month there is color already added to these.

This month we were given a few Faber-Castell Gelatoes that went along with the colors used in the stickers, which I appreciated. It will allow my to play with them in a way that will still keep everything related to one another instead of randomly having a spread that doesn’t really flow.

I also am in LOVE with the washi tape this month. I am adding it so nearly everything I can because it is just perfect. I love the colors, the art, and the size of it. Just perfect!

We also received this sparkly blue Jelly Roll pen. It writes really smooth and I was happy to get this, because I have been wanting to try these pens, but not quite ready to invest.

The last little bonus was this beautiful necklace, it is very nice and it isn’t too big or small. It really brings the theme of the month into the real world, if that makes sense?

I decided to do a few swatches of all of the items inside of this months box, apart from the gold. The gold is a paint I picked up myself and put it on the same swatch page in my bullet journal. Anyway, I really enjoyed the Jelly Roll pen, although be warned you have to let it sit for a moment I used it else where and it smudged. The Gelatos did not preform well in my bullet journal, but I think it was more the paper, which I dislike to begin with. I will never guy a bullet journal from this company ever again. The paper is just horrid, especially for the price, but I digress.

I am truly thrilled with this months theme. I don’t normally hold myself to the themes of this box, but this month I am going for it and using it throughout.

Unboxing Boho Berry | December 2018

Unboxing

So I finally caved and signed up for a bullet journal subscription box and after looking at a bunch of blog posts, instagram pictures, and youtube unboxing I decided on trying Boho Berry. Years ago I watched her youtube channel and really enjoyed her content, but at that time I was not really ready to invest in notebooks or related objects. Then she turned to digital planning and I unsubscribed. Well, upon my most recent research I am happy to say not only did I order her box, I resubscribed to her channel since she is doing more physical planning again.

What really drew me to this box over the other ones was the fact that it was consistently delivering quality items to their subscribers. There were a few that I was excited about only to realize that a lot of the time their boxes were misses and a few winners mixed in. I work hard for my money so when I spend it I want consistency. Another point that draw me in was the fact that she designed certain things just for her box, such as stickers. I thought this was fun, interesting and something different.

So, now that I ordered my first box, here is what I got inside!

The box that it is shipped in is so beautiful, but it also more importantly held up very well while shipping. There was no dents or damage to it.

The attention to detail in this box is really wonderful, a cover to protect the information card was adorable.

Upon first opening the box you can see that it is stuffed with goodies. Stickers for decoration and some that are very practical.

Here are ones I am the most curious about. The first is a December tracker, I normally don’t use these. I think the main reason is I am to lazy to actually make the layout myself. The second one is a great sticker that helps you reflect upon the year which I really appreciate. Never hurts to be a little more mindful and reflective to better yourself and grow.

These are the other stickers that are present in the box. There is a beautifully illustrated quote that is black and yellow. Then the second sheet is a mixture of preactical stickers I am very much looking forward to using my in bullet journal soon. I will say since I already had my December layout done, Bullet Journal | December 2018, so I don’t be using the December stickers this month. The great news is that they are undated so I am already prepared for next year! The last sticker sheet is beautiful and I think are perfect for adding a little something to spreads that just need a little uplifting.

This last group of goodies I am very excited about. The first item on the left are beautiful paper clips. One side is a star and the other is a moon, which with a name like Luna I really appreciate. I am already using these. The second item is a mechanic pencil called Tombow Mono Graph Mechanical Pencil. I love using pencils to add in dates and stuff incase things have to get shifted around so I am really curious to see if I like the feel of this one. The next is a Tombow Dual Brush Pen in Light Orange. I already have this color, but I am passing it along to someone who needs it. I really love these pens so this was a great thing to get in this box. The last thing in this was a Moon Desk Dish, which I LOVE. I already have it on my desk with my paperclips inside

I absolutely loved my first Boho Berry Box and I am looking forward to see what is coming in my next one.

Quarterly Co. Literary Box: February 2017

dsc_0560

Quarterly Co. is one of my favorite book boxes that I have tried over the years. For me personally I like that it is seasonal. It gives me time to read the books, when  I used to get a few monthly boxes I would get overwhelmed and that led to my TBR getting totally out of hand. I also like the fact you can pick YA or Literature. I like YA don’t get me wrong, but it was nice to find a box that was Adult Literature. Lastly I love how the box picks an author, they write notes throughout the book and then adds in a few books they enjoyed. It’s like having a book club with the author!

This quarter was curated by Kayla Rae Whitaker. When I opened the box there was a typed note from the author explaining her book and an explanation for the other two books she included in the box. Not only do you get to read books chosen by an author, but you learn their significance to the author as well.

This is what I love about this box, author notes! There was sticky  notes all over the pages in the book. I always get excited when I get to a page where I see one poking out a bit.

The books that were included in this box are the curators debut book The Animators, which I am very exited to read. I read the description a while back and it sounded like fun. If follows two women who meet at a private college and follows them to a decade later where they are “now an award winning animation duo” (It is taken right from the description, no spoilers here). It seems to be a book following great friends through their ups and down, just a much needed feel good book since I have been on a thriller binge as of late.

The second and third books in the box I have never heard about. The first of these two books is The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson, which is a memoir that discusses diversity and love. Now that I have looked up the description I am very happy to have it to read in the near future. The final book in the box is The Annie Year by Stephanie Wilbur Ash. This book follows a well known patron of the arts in a small town. But, Annie does something that has serious repercussions on her life. Was it worth it? I’m not sure, but I will read a find out.

I hope you like my little unboxing*. You can find more information on this box by clicking the link right here. To find out more about the books mentioned simply click on the title, I linked to all of their goodreads pages.
