Unboxing | Tombow VIP Club November 2020

Hello and welcome to a little unboxing post of he most recent Tombow VIP Club box. This box pops up from time to time on their site and often is a great deal to try out new items. This box is currently listed for $30 on tombowusa.com and had free shipping when I ordered within the US.

Image of opening the box. Card on top of items with logo.

I really loved the color scheme of this box, bright yellows, muted pinks and earthy greens. As soon as you open the box you are met with a card that on the front has the logo of the box that is usually decorated in art using the colors in the box. On the other side they detail the items and their worth.

Image of items in the box, detailed below.

First you have tthe ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Marker 5-pack, which comes with the colors P817 Mauve, P993 Chrome Orange, P249 Hunter Green, P761 Carnation, and PN75 Cool Gray 3. This 5 pack combination ended up being an exclusive to the box. Following this are three of their famous Dual Brush Pens in he colors 312 Holly Green, 879 Brown, 942 Tan. Next is a single MONO Sand Eraser, which is said to erase pens, I cannot wait to give that a try. Lastly, a new to me product the Irojiten Colored Pencils in the colors D-04 Maple Sugar, DL-06 Hummingbird, D-20 Indigo, D-14 Bamboo, D-12 Maroon.

I am really excited to give these items a try. I think I am most excited about the eraser and the ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers. I really want to see how they compare to the Dual Brush Pens. This box ended up being a value of $54.50. So, it is certainly worth the money spent and is a fun little box in my eyes. This is the third on I hav gotten and I plan on getting more in the future.

Bullet Journal | September 2020

Hello and welcome to my post where I am sharing my bullet journal spreads for September 2020. I don’t know about you, but September has really snuck up on me this year. I feel like it was the first week fo August and then I turned around and it was the last week already! Anyway, the only good news about time flying is creating some new spreads!

Items Used

  • Alphabet stamps
  • Scotch Adhesive Dot Roller
  • Tombow Brush Pen in color #912
  • Mechanical Pencil
  • Micron 01 in Black
  • Royalty Free Stock Photo: Pixabay
  • A5 Garden Slither Dot Grid Notebook from Olive and Archer
  • Amenti Oracle by Jennifer Sodini

Here is my dashboard for the month, as you can see by the picture on the right I am already feeling fall. I am not a huge fan of summer and the heat so I am one to always rush it out of the way. I really loved the picture of a walkway at a park with tall fall trees overhanging it and the addition of fog. I want to jump into the picture just like they do in Mary Poppins, I can feel the crisp air already! On the left I decided I would add a little script in the name of the month above the monthly calendar. I highlighted this page as well as all the others with a peachy orange color, Tombow Brush Pen in color #912.

On the left, I really wanted to keep the same month ahead spread I used over the past month. I really liked having a list of my TBR ready for me to work through as well as having a list of personal goals. I find it really motivating and allows me to focus my time instead of just wasting it. On the right I really enjoyed my bookshelf spread where I paste the picture of the books I have read throughout the month. Below you will find a picture from my August BUJO.

Here is my books read bookshelf for the month of August, this is not all the books I have read, but you can see I read You Were Born for This, The Secret River, Fever Dream (my favorite of the month), Smoke and Mirrors, The Comedy of Errors, G’morning, G’Night, After the Quake, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, and The Hunger.

On the left you will see my oracle card for the month, this month I picked I spread joy. Which honestly, I love! I will say the image on the card a woman almost in a ballerina post on her toes with a few triangles behind her confuses me, but I am going to explore it more throughout the month. On the right hand side I am going to be doing a self care tracker. I have not really been taking great care of myself so I really want to make sure I leave time to care for myself in a wide range of methods. I put a square for each day of the month and when I do a form of self care I will color it in.

Last, but not last are my weekly spreads. I have been using these weekly spreads where I only put a mini calendar on the left page and leave room for notes and memory notes. On the right I have a rectangle for every day of the week, apart from the weekend, which I combine. This really works well for me because I have room to add appointments and such, but also lists to check off for the day.

Bullet Journal | July 2020

Bullet Journal

Hello and welcome to my July bullet journal post. This month I changed a few things, but mainly kept things the same. But, I really enjoy the vibe I created for the month by adding a few pictures from a stock photo site and marker colors. I have really started to enjoy photographs in my spreads to set a mood as of late instead of doodles. Anyway, here is what I put together for July!

Items Used

Archer & Olive A5 Garden Sliter Dot Grid notebook

Tombow Dual Brush Pens 312

Tombow Dual Brush Pens 946

Sakura Pigma Micron Pens 01 and 05

On the left I placed my monthly calendar, I really loved highlighting the color green and orange in the picture of the cafe on the right hand page. I feel like it really pulled these two pages together. I picked the cafe because it looked so calming and relaxing with the color scheme of the various shades of green and pop of orange and tan. I also added The Reading Rush to my bujo because I am planning on taking part this year. I am so excited about the challenges this year, they are so fun in my opinion.

The next two pages house four different things. On the left I have my TBR for the month of July listed and a space to write my monthly goals. I also added a mini calendar for reference for the page on the right. On the right I have a vertical calendar were I will mark the days I read and on the right I am going to be adding my blog posts. I carried over the orange and green color by highlighting the titles and lines on the page.

These next two pages are a bit more plain. On the left I picked my oracle card for the month and I left the area around it blank so I have room to reelect upon it. This months card says “I Line in Truth”. On the accompanying page I added a picture of a brown doorway with a ton of plants because it goes well with the oracle card and the cafe picture I previously mentioned. Due to the fact that orange and brown are used a lot I decided to just add highlights with the green marker.

Now, this page on the left is my Books Read that I started using last month. In this spread I doodled a few bookshelves where I will then glue in the covers of the books I finish reading. I will share a picture of it competed below. On the right I added a picture of a window in a greenhouse while it is raining. It matches the green and orange theme perfectly and it is relaxing and a place I would love to read. I love plants and I would love to have a green house at some times in the future and I would love to sit inside during a rain storm and read.

Here is a picture from my bullet journal from last month (June 2020). On the left is a completed Books Read spread where I pasted pictures of the book covers. I really loved this so much more than the lists I was doing in the future. I ended up reading I’m Judging You, The Glass Hotel, Quichotte, Untamed, Prodigal Son, Full Dark No Stars, Twelfth Night, Anansi Boys, and A Darker Shade of Magic at the time of taking this picture.

Here is a picture f my weekly spread I started using last month and it worked so well. On the left I kept is mostly blank so I can add all the good things that happened that week, the only thing I added was a mini calendar and I highlighted the current week the spread is for. On the right I have six boxes each week day has its own and the weekend shares one. I decided to highlight the day of the week and date with the green I have used throughout this month.

What theme are you using this month?

What do you have planned for June?

Hauls & Unboxings

Unboxing | Tombow VIP Club January 2020

Hauls & Unboxings

Hello and welcome to a little unboxing of the Tombow VIP Club. I was not planning ordering and unboxing this today, but honestly Tombow loves to throw these boxes out randomly so here I am.  I saw it in my email and I really loved what was inside so I ordered it. In the US this is $25 with free shipping. Now to unbox and see if it is worth the money! If this is still available you can find it here: Tombow VIP Club.

I just love how festive the box is when I opened it I needed to take a picture. It is so bright and color, just what I have needed with all of the long nights of winter. I truly miss the color of Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Here are the items inside the box, first the exclusive Tombow playing cards. I love playing solitaire in my free time so these were a really cute edition in my eyes. Also great for an unexpected card game with friends, these are said to be about $12.99. This is about on par with some nicer playing cards I have seen at the store. Next we have a new collection of their Dual Brush Pens called Celebration. This is a collection of 10 colors which include; 055, 452, 245,885, 723,  850, 026, 451, 743, and 925. This is said to be worth $26.99. I have used and loved thee Dual Brush Pens for a few years now, I personally really enjoy them. Lastly, we have MONO Drawing Pens in 6 different sizes; 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 08. I have not used this before, but I am really excited to give them a try. I feel like they would be great in my bullet journal! These are also said to be worth $16.99.

So, if you total all of that up this box is worth $56.97. Very much above the $25 price of the box. The Dual Brush Pens alone are the price of the box.

Here is a little peak into the cards, they are really beautiful cards and feature the work from the design team.  It seems that each suit has its own artist, which is a wonderful way to showcase their team members and their talents.

Here is a swatch of all of the colors in the Celebration set as well as all of the MONO Drawing Pens. I am happy to report that none of them bleed through, which I was really thrilled about. Pens can be very tricky at times, but for reference I use Archer and Olive  A5 dot grid notebook, so your experience might not be the same as mine if you use a different notebook.

Overall I am thrilled by this Tombow VIP Club box. For me it is a great deal, I get to try new things without putting out the full price. That is always something I worry about, spending money and buying something full price and it doesn’t work out. This really gives me a bit more confidence to go outside of my normal box and give something a go.

What did you think of this box?

What was your favorite time? Do you use any of these supplies?

This year I made a goal to share more of my loves outside of books and this is my way to dipping my toe. I hope you enjoy!

I have to admit, I LOVE the color of the box. I am a sucker for cute packaging and for me this fits the bill. Also, on top of that it is sturdy and you can tell it was well thought out with all the classic Tombow items illustrated all over it.

Next was a card with information on them. Very cute, and I looked at this after unboxing everything if I am honest. While I knew one item beforehand, because I did not read what was inside the box. Yes, if you want to know what is inside they totally tell you so you know what you are spending your money on. I really appreciate them giving consumers the option.

Now to all the goodies. I really found these to all be practical and helpful items to use in my everyday life and in my bullet journal. I constantly use glue tape, I feel like I am buying a new roll every month and to get 3, I am so excited. The washi tape included is also really adorable, I really loved how they tied one of the tapes to the pattern on the card and the product design of the newly released item. These markers are not something I played with just yet, but I am very exited about them being thin and colorful. They seem really vibrant. The main reason I did not add swatches at this time is because I am in the profess of redoing my “craft” area in the shared office. So I didn’t want to open them and risk loosing one or two to the chaos. The last item I thought was a really cute idea. It is a mini learn to draw page with banners and fun doodles you can add into your bullet journal or wherever you feel like you need it. On the other side is the alphabet in a beautiful script typography.

  • NEW TwinTone Marker Set, 12-Pack Rainbow MSRP: $19.99
  • Exclusive Tombow Washi Tape: MSRP: $5.99
  • Exclusive Faux Calligraphy & Planner Doodles Insert: Unpriced Exclusive
  • Power Mini Glue Tape 3-Pack: MSRP: $8.99

Total cost: $25.00

Total worth: $34.97
